A tropical wave accompanied by a low pressure system is located a few hundred miles southwest of the Cape Verde Islands. This disturbance continues to produce a large area of showers and thunderstorms, and some slow development is possible into early next week while the system moves westward at about 15 mph. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...10 percent * Formation chance through 5 days...low...30 percent 2. An elongated area of low pressure located about 250 miles east of the South Carolina coast is accompanied by disorganized shower and thunderstorm activity.
