For the central North Pacific, between 140W and 180W:
The 2022 tropical cyclone season in the central North Pacific
featured one tropical cyclone that moved into the central Pacific
Hurricane Center (CPHC) area of responsibility, which is well below
the seasonal average. Hurricane Darby entered the north Central
Pacific basin in mid-July, and remained a viable tropical cyclone
for a couple of days until it transitioned to a gale low south of
the main Hawaiian Islands.
