Monthly Tropical Weather Summary

For the central North Pacific, between 140W and 180W:

There was one tropical cyclone in the central North Pacific basin
during the month of August. Early in the month, Tropical
Storm Flossie entered the basin from the east Pacific, and
gradually weakened as it neared the main Hawaiian Islands.
