Tropical Weather Outlook
NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL
500 AM PDT Fri Oct 22 2021

For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude:

1. Showers and thunderstorms associated with a low pressure area
located about 250 miles south of Acapulco, Mexico, continue to
become better organized. Although earlier satellite wind data
indicated that the low did not yet have a closed surface wind
circulation, any further increase in organization would result in
the development of a tropical depression or a tropical storm later
today. The system is forecast to move slowly west-northwestward or
northwestward just offshore of the southern coast of Mexico over
the next day or so. Interests along the southern and southwestern
coast of Mexico should monitor the progress of this system during
the next few days, and additional information, including gale
warnings, can be found in High Seas Forecasts issued by the National
Weather Service.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...high...90 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...high...90 percent.

High Seas Forecasts issued by the National Weather Service can be
found under AWIPS header NFDHSFEPI, WMO header FZPN02 KWBC, and on
the web at ocean.weather.gov/shtml/NFDHSFEPI.php
