For the central North Pacific...between 140W and 180W:
1. A broad area of low pressure located about 2000 miles
east-southeast of Hilo, Hawaii continues to produce disorganized
showers and thunderstorms. Environmental conditions are generally
conducive for development, and this system could become a tropical
depression this weekend or early next week before it reaches cooler
waters while moving westward at 10 to 15 mph.

* Formation chance through 5 days...medium...50 percent.
Elsewhere, no tropical cyclones are expected during the next 5 days.
