For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude:

The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Tropical
Storm Alvin, located several hundred miles southwest of Manzanillo,
Mexico.

1. An area of low pressure is expected to develop in a few days several
hundred miles southwest of the southern coast of Mexico.  Some slow
development of this system is possible over the weekend and into
early next week as it moves westward to west-northwestward.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...low...20 percent.
