For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude:

1. An area of low pressure is expected to develop a few hundred miles
south or southeast of the southern tip of Baja California during the
next couple of days.  Environmental conditions should be conducive
for gradual development of this system, and a tropical depression
is likely to form by mid-week while the system moves north or
northwestward.

* Formation chance through 5 days...high...70 percent.
