For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude:

1. An area of low pressure is expected to develop a few hundred miles
south or southeast of the southern tip of Baja California during the
next couple of days.  Environmental conditions appear conducive for
gradual development of this system, and a tropical depression could
form by midweek while the system moves northwestward.
