For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude:

The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on newly
downgraded Tropical Depression Eugene, located several hundred miles
west-southwest of Punta Eugenia, Mexico, and on newly upgraded
Tropical Storm Fernanda, located several hundred miles south of the
southern tip of the Baja California peninsula.

1. A broad area of low pressure is expected to form a few hundred
miles south of Mexico during the weekend.  Gradual development of
this system is possible as it moves slowly toward the
west-northwest.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...low...20 percent.

Public Advisories on Tropical Storm Fernanda are issued under WMO
header WTPZ31 KNHC and under AWIPS header MIATCPEP1.
Forecast/Advisories on Tropical Storm Fernanda are issued under
WMO header WTPZ21 KNHC and under AWIPS header MIATCMEP1.
