For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude:
The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Hurricane
Newton, located over the southern portion of the Baja California
peninsula.
1. Shower activity associated with an elongated area of low pressure
located about 1100 miles southwest of the southern tip of the
Baja California peninsula has become disorganized. Environmental
conditions are expected to be somewhat conducive for development of
this system during the next few days while the disturbance moves
northward and then northwestward.

* Formation chance through 5 days...medium...50 percent
2. An area of disturbed weather several hundred miles south of the
Gulf of Tehuantepec has formed in association with a tropical wave.
A low pressure system is expected to form from this disturbance in a
couple of days several hundred miles southwest of Manzanillo,
Mexico. Slow development of this system is possible, and a tropical
depression could form over the weekend while the low moves
west-northwestward.
