ZCZC MIATWOAT ALL TTAA00 KNHC DDHHMM TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK NWS NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL 200 AM EDT THU SEP 24 2015 For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico: The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Tropical Storm Ida, located about 1100 miles east of the northern Leeward Islands. 1. Disorganized showers and thunderstorms over the far western Caribbean Sea and Central America are associated with a trough of low pressure. Development of this system is not expected during the next several days due to interaction with land and unfavorable upper-level winds. The disturbance is forecast to reach the southern Gulf of Mexico by late this weekend, and even though upper-level winds are not expected to be particularly favorable, some development is possible early next week while the system moves northward over the central Gulf of Mexico. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent * Formation chance through 5 days...low...20 percent Forecaster Berg
