TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK NWS NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL 500 AM PDT WED JUL 16 2014 For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude: 1. An area of low pressure located about 1175 miles east-southeast of the Big Island of Hawaii is expected to move westward into the central Pacific basin later today. Shower activity associated with the low remains disorganized, but environmental conditions are still conducive for some development of this system today or Thursday. After that time, upper-level winds are expected to become unfavorable for tropical cyclone formation. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...20 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...low...20 percent.
