For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude:

The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Hurricane
Linda, located several hundred miles south of the southern tip
of the Baja California peninsula.

1. An area of low pressure is forecast to develop a few hundred miles
south of the coast of Mexico by late this week.  Environment
conditions are expected to be conducive for gradual development of
the system while it moves slowly west-northwestward.
