FOR THE EASTERN NORTH PACIFIC...EAST OF 140 DEGREES WEST LONGITUDE..

THE NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER IS ISSUING ADVISORIES ON TROPICAL
STORM MIRIAM...LOCATED ABOUT 410 MILES WEST OF THE SOUTHERN TIP OF
BAJA CALIFORNIA.

1. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUE IN ASSOCIATION WITH A BROAD AREA
OF LOW PRESSURE LOCATED ABOUT 210 MILES WEST-SOUTHWEST OF
MANZANILLO MEXICO.  ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS APPEAR CONDUCIVE FOR A
TROPICAL DEPRESSION TO FORM DURING THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS AS IT
MOVES NORTH-NORTHWESTWARD AT 10 TO 15 MPH.  THIS SYSTEM HAS A HIGH
CHANCE...60 PERCENT...OF BECOMING A TROPICAL CYCLONE DURING THE
NEXT 48 HOURS.  LOCALLY HEAVY RAINS ARE POSSIBLE ALONG PORTIONS OF
THE WEST COAST OF MEXICO DURING THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS.

ELSEWHERE...TROPICAL CYCLONE FORMATION IS NOT EXPECTED DURING THE
NEXT 48 HOURS.
