Flash Flood Watches are currently in effect from central Mississippi 
through northern Alabama, and southern Middle Tennessee.
 
 
DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK
----------------------
At 1000 AM CDT (1500 UTC), the center of Post-Tropical Cyclone Beta
was located near latitude 32.9 North, longitude 89.9 West. The
post-tropical cyclone is moving toward the east-northeast near 17
mph (28 km/h) and this motion is expected to continue through 
tonight.
 
Maximum sustained winds are near 30 mph (45 km/h) with higher gusts.
Weakening is forecast during the next 36 hours, and Beta is 
expected to dissipate by Friday night.
 
The estimated minimum central pressure is 1003 mb (29.62 inches).
 
 
HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND
----------------------
RAINFALL: Rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches are expected through 
early Friday from northeast Mississippi, across the Middle Tennessee 
Valley and into the southern Appalachians.  Isolated flash
and urban flooding is possible, as well as isolated minor river 
flooding on smaller rivers.

Across the remainder of the Carolinas rainfall of 1 to 3 inches 
will be possible on Friday, potentially causing isolated flash, 
urban, and small stream flooding.

TORNADOES:  An isolated tornado or two are possible this
afternoon across Southern Alabama.
