DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 200 AM PDT (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Ivette was
located near latitude 14.2 North, longitude 119.2 West. Ivette is
moving toward the west-northwest near 20 mph (31 km/h).  A
west-northwestward to westward motion with a decrease in forward
speed is expected over the next couple of days.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 40 mph (65 km/h)
with higher gusts. Additional strengthening is forecast during
the next couple of days, and Ivette could become a hurricane by
Thursday night.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 60 miles (95 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1005 mb (29.68 inches).
