DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 200 PM PDT (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Kevin was
located near latitude 18.7 North, longitude 115.8 West.  Kevin is
moving toward the north near 8 mph (13 km/h), and a turn toward the
northwest and west-northwest is expected over the next 48 hours.

Maximum sustained winds remain near 50 mph (85 km/h) with higher
gusts.  Some slight strengthening remains possible during the next
day or so.

Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 70 miles (110 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1000 mb (29.53 inches).
