For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude:

1. An area of low pressure is expected to form several hundred miles
southwest of the southwestern coast of Mexico in a couple of days.
Environmental conditions are forecast to be conducive for gradual
development, and a tropical depression is likely to form
over the weekend while the system moves west-northwest to northwest
at 5 to 10 mph.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 20 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...high...70 percent.
