For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude:

The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Hurricane
Norman, located nearly 1000 miles west-southwest of the southern tip
of the Baja California peninsula, and on newly developed Tropical
Depression Seventeen-E, located several hundred miles southwest of
Manzanillo, Mexico.

1. An area of low pressure is expected to form well south of the
southwestern coast of Mexico in a few days.  Some gradual
development of this system is possible through the middle of next
week.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...low...20 percent.
