DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 1100 PM HST (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Hernan
was located near latitude 16.4 North, longitude 133.8 West. The
depression is moving toward the west near 13 mph (20 km/h) and this
general motion is expected to continue through the next few days.
 
Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts.
Slow weakening is forecast during the few days, and Hernan is
forecast to degenerate to a remnant low pressure area of Saturday.
 
The estimated minimum central pressure is 1006 mb (29.71 inches).
