DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 1100 AM HST (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Hernan 
was located near latitude 15.6 North, longitude 132.1 West. The 
depression is nearly stationary. Hernan is expected to turn toward 
the west and and move at a faster forward motion tonight into 
Saturday. 
 
Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. 
Hernan is forecast to become a post-tropical cyclone by early 
Saturday. 
 
The estimated minimum central pressure is 1006 mb (29.71 inches).
