DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 1100 AM HST (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Genevieve
was located near latitude 22.3 North, longitude 130.2 West.
Genevieve is moving toward the west-northwest near 16 mph (26 km/h). 
This general motion is expected to continue with some decrease in 
forward speed during the next two to three days.
 
Satellite wind data indicate that maximum sustained winds are near 
60 mph (95 km/h) with higher gusts. Slow weakening is expected 
through Saturday, with a faster weakening expected starting 
Saturday night. Genevieve is expected to become a remnant low 
Sunday night or Monday.
 
Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 115 miles (185 km)
from the center.
 
The estimated minimum central pressure is 996 mb (29.42 inches).
 
 
HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND
----------------------
SURF: Swells generated by Genevieve are affecting portions of the
Baja California Peninsula and Southern California. These swells will
persist for the next several days, and are causing life-threatening
surf and rip current conditions. Please consult products from your
local weather office.
