DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 500 AM HST (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Amanda was located near latitude 11.5 North, longitude 135.4 West. The depression is moving toward the southwest near 5 mph (7 km/h) and turn toward the west-southwest is expected today. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts.
