DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 200 PM PDT (2100 UTC), the center of Hurricane Odalys was located
near latitude 16.8 North, longitude 124.9 West. Odalys is moving
toward the east-northeast near 8 mph (13 km/h), and this general
motion should continue through tonight. A gradual turn toward the
northeast and north is expected on Friday and Saturday.
 
Maximum sustained winds are near 90 mph (150 km/h) with higher 
gusts. Some intensity fluctuations are possible during the next day 
or so, followed by weakening through the weekend.
 
Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 35 miles (55 km) from the
center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 140 miles
(220 km).
 
The estimated minimum central pressure is 976 mb (28.82 inches).
