DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 800 PM PDT (0300 UTC), the center of Hurricane Odalys was located 
near latitude 18.8 North, longitude 123.6 West. Odalys is moving 
toward the north near 5 mph (7 km/h), and this motion is expected to 
continue through Saturday, followed by a turn toward the northeast 
on Sunday. An eastward to southeastward motion is forecast early 
next week.
 
Maximum sustained winds are near 120 mph (195 km/h) with higher 
gusts. Odalys is a category 3 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson 
Hurricane Wind Scale. A weakening trend is forecast to begin tonight 
and continue through early next week.
 
Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 35 miles (55 km) from the
center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 125 miles
(205 km).
 
The estimated minimum central pressure is 952 mb (28.12 inches).
