513 WTPZ45 KNHC 160231 TCDEP5 Remnants Of Fifteen-E Discussion Number 10 NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL EP152026 800 PM PDT Tue Sep 15 2026 Earlier ASCAT data from around 18Z showed that the center of Fifteen-E was becoming more elongated in the north-south direction. Since that time, visible satellite imagery suggests further degradation and elongation of the low-level wind field, and it is estimated that Fifteen-E likely no longer has a well-defined surface center and has opened up into a trough. The trough should continue moving westward for the next several days, potentially producing intermittent bursts of convection. Environmental conditions along the path of the remnants are marginal over the next several days, and the chance of regeneration appears to be very low.
