DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK
----------------------
At 500 PM HST (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Karina was
located near latitude 22.0 North, longitude 143.9 West. Karina is
moving toward the west-northwest near 6 mph (9 km/h). A faster
west to west-northwest motion is expected over the next couple of
days.
 
Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 60 mph (95 km/h) 
with higher gusts. Additional weakening is expected and Karina is
forecast to become a post-tropical cyclone low within the next
day or two.
 
Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 140 miles (220 km)
from the center.
 
The estimated minimum central pressure is 993 mb (29.33 inches).
