DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 1100 AM HST (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Lala was
located near latitude 36.1 North, longitude 178.3 West. Lala is
moving toward the northwest near 5 mph (7 km/h), with a turn toward 
the north-northwest expected through Thursday. 
 
Maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher gusts.
Some weakening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and Lala is 
forecast to become a post-tropical remnant low by Thursday night. 
 
Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 115 miles (185 km)
from the center.
 
The estimated minimum central pressure is 999 mb (29.50 inches).
