DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 1100 PM HST (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Lala was 
located near latitude 37.0 North, longitude 178.3 West. Lala is 
moving toward the north near 6 mph (9 km/h). A northward to 
north-northwestward motion is expected through Thursday, followed by 
a gradual turn toward the west-northwest Thursday night and Friday. 
On the forecast track, Lala is forecast to cross the International 
Date line in about 30 to 36 h. 
 
Maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher gusts. 
Gradual weakening is expected during the next couple of days, and 
Lala is forecast to become a post-tropical remnant low Thursday 
night or Friday morning. 
 
Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 125 miles (205 km)
from the center.
 
The estimated minimum central pressure is 999 mb (29.50 inches).
