Post-Tropical Cyclone Olana Discussion Number 7
NWS Central Pacific Hurricane Center Honolulu HI CP032026
Issued by NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL
500 PM HST Mon Oct 26 2026

Olana has lacked organized deep convection for more than 12 hours,
and the circulation has become weak, elongated, and poorly defined.
Therefore, Olana is now considered a post-tropical cyclone. The
initial intensity is lowered to 25 kt, and even this could be
generous.

The remnant low has been moving south-southeastward at about 6 kt
over the past 12-18 hours. The low should turn eastward and weaken
some more overnight and then degenerate into an elongated trough on
Tuesday. Some of the models show the remnant trough merging with a
mid- to upper-level low pressure area that turns northwestward
toward the International Date Line by the end of the week.

This is the last NHC advisory on Olana.
