...AIR FORCE HURRICANE HUNTERS INDICATE THAT LOWELL HAS 
STRENGTHENED QUICKLY...
 
The Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunters are currently investigating 
Lowell and have found that the maximum winds have increased to 
around 150 mph (240 km/h), making Lowell a category 4 hurricane on 
the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale. 

A Special Advisory with an updated intensity forecast will be 
issued shortly.
