DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 1100 AM HST (2100 UTC), the center of Hurricane Linda was located
near latitude 18.7 North, longitude 133.2 West. Linda is moving
toward the west-northwest near 14 mph (22 km/h) and this motion is
expected to continue through the weekend.
 
Maximum sustained winds are near 100 mph (155 km/h) with higher
gusts.  Steady weakening is forecast through Friday, and Linda is 
expected to become a gale-force post-tropical cyclone on Saturday.
 
Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 30 miles (45 km) from the
center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 90 miles
(150 km).
 
The estimated minimum central pressure is 977 mb (28.85 inches).
