DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 1100 PM HST (0900 UTC), the center of Hurricane Linda was located 
near latitude 18.1 North, longitude 130.7 West. Linda is moving 
toward the west near 13 mph (20 km/h)  A turn towards the 
west-northwest is expected Wednesday morning, and this general 
motion should continue through the weekend.
 
Maximum sustained winds are near 105 mph (165 km/h) with higher
gusts.  Little change in strength is expected overnight, but a slow 
weakening trend is forecast to begin by tomorrow night.
 
Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 30 miles (45 km) from the
center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 90 miles
(150 km).
 
The estimated minimum central pressure is 975 mb (28.80 inches).
