DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK
----------------------
At 1000 PM CDT (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Linda was
located near latitude 14.3 North, longitude 103.5 West. Linda is
moving toward the west-northwest near 9 mph (15 km/h). A turn to 
the west at the current speed is expected over the next day or so 
followed by a turn back to the west-northwest later this week.
 
Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 50 mph (85 km/h) 
with higher gusts. Additional strengthening is forecast over the 
next several days, and Linda is now forecast to become a hurricane 
by late tomorrow. 
 
Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 90 miles (150 km)
from the center.
 
The estimated minimum central pressure is 1001 mb (29.56 inches).
 
 
HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND
----------------------
SURF:  Swells generated by Linda are expected to affect portions of
the coast of southwestern Mexico over the next few days.  These
swells are likely to cause life-threatening surf and rip current
conditions. Please consult products from your local weather office.
