DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 800 AM PDT (1500 UTC), the eye of Hurricane Hector was located
near latitude 14.2 North, longitude 124.6 West. Hector is moving
toward the west near 14 mph (22 km/h), and this general motion is
expected to continue for the next few days.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 85 mph (140 km/h)
with higher gusts.  Additional strengthening is forecast during the
next few days.

Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 15 miles (30 km) from the
center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 60 miles
(95 km).

The estimated minimum central pressure is 987 mb (29.15 inches).
