DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 200 AM PDT (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Hector was
located near latitude 14.3 North, longitude 123.4 West. Hector is
moving toward the west-northwest near 12 mph (19 km/h).  A general
westward motion at a similar forward speed is expected for the next
several days.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 70 mph (110 km/h)
with higher gusts.  Additional strengthening is forecast, and Hector
is expected to become a hurricane later today.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 60 miles (95 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 995 mb (29.39 inches).
