DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 900 AM MDT (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Emilia was
located near latitude 14.4 North, longitude 112.4 West. Emilia is
moving toward the west-northwest near 14 mph (22 km/h), and this
general motion with some decrease in forward speed is expected over
the next few days.

Maximum sustained winds remain near 40 mph (65 km/h) with higher
gusts. Some strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours
before weakening begins on Sunday.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 70 miles (110 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1005 mb (29.68 inches).
