DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 300 PM MDT (2100 UTC), the center of Hurricane Aletta was located
near latitude 15.3 North, longitude 110.0 West.  Aletta is moving
toward the west-northwest near 6 mph (9 km/h), and a turn toward
the northwest is expected in 2 to 3 days.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 75 mph (120 km/h)
with higher gusts.  Some additional strengthening is forecast during
the next day or two, but a weakening trend is forecast to begin on
Saturday.

Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 25 miles (35 km) from the
center, and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 90 miles
(150 km).

The estimated minimum central pressure is 987 mb (29.15 inches).
