DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 300 PM MDT (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Aletta was
located near latitude 14.2 North, longitude 107.9 West.  Aletta is
moving toward the west near 8 mph (13 km/h), and a slow westward to
west-northwestward motion is expected over the next few days.

Maximum sustained winds remain near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher
gusts.  Strengthening is forecast during the next couple of days,
and Aletta could become a hurricane by late Thursday.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 80 miles (130 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1000 mb (29.53 inches).
