DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 800 AM PDT (1500 UTC), the center of Hurricane Hilary was located
near latitude 17.6 North, longitude 116.0 West. Hilary is moving
toward the west-northwest near 10 mph (17 km/h), and a general
west-northwest motion is expected for the next couple of days.

Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 80 mph (130 km/h)
with higher gusts.  Slight weakening is forecast during the next 48
hours, but Hilary is expected to be at or near hurricane strength
until the weekend.

Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 25 miles (35 km) from the
center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 105 miles
(165 km).

The estimated minimum central pressure is 986 mb (29.12 inches).
