DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 200 AM PDT (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Fernanda was
located near latitude 18.2 North, longitude 137.7 West. Fernanda is
moving toward the west-northwest near 9 mph (15 km/h), and this
general motion is expected to continue for the next couple of days.

Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 70 mph (110 km/h)
with higher gusts.  Additional weakening is forecast during the
next 48 hours, and Fernanda could become a tropical depression by
late Friday.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 105 miles (165 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 992 mb (29.30 inches).
