DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 900 AM MDT (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Eugene was
located near latitude 13.6 North, longitude 112.8 West. Eugene is
moving toward the northwest near 9 mph (15 km/h), and this general
motion is forecast to continue for the next couple of days.

Maximum sustained winds are near 60 mph (95 km/h) with higher gusts.
Some strengthening is forecast during the next day or two, and
Eugene is expected to become a hurricane on Sunday.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 70 miles (110 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1000 mb (29.53 inches).
