DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK
------------------------------
At 100 PM CDT (1800 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Three-E
was located near latitude 15.4 North, longitude 95.4 West.  The
depression has been nearly stationary, but a slow west-northwestward
motion is expected to resume later today.  On the forecast track,
the center of the tropical cyclone will be near or over the coast of
Mexico in the warning area tonight or early Tuesday.

Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher
gusts.  Some strengthening is possible, and the depression could
become a tropical storm before making landfall in Mexico.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1007 mb (29.74 inches).


HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND
----------------------
RAINFALL:  The depression is expected to produce total rainfall
accumulations of 5 to 10 inches across the Mexican states of
Chiapas, Oaxaca, and Guerrero, with possible isolated maximum
amounts of 20 inches.  The depression is also expected to produce
total rainfall accumulations of 3 to 5 inches in the Mexican states
of Tabasco and Veracruz, as well as in Guatemala.  These rains may
produce life-threatening flash floods and mudslides.

WIND:  Tropical storm conditions are expected to first reach the
coast within portions of the warning area today.
