DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 800 PM PDT (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Madeline was
located near latitude 13.9 North, longitude 137.4 West. Madeline is
moving toward the west-northwest near 12 mph (19 km/h). A general
west-northwestward motion is expected to continue for the next
couple of days with a decrease in forward speed.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 40 mph (65 km/h) with
higher gusts. Some strengthening is forecast, and Madeline could
become a hurricane on Monday.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 45 miles (75 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1006 mb (29.71 inches).
