DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 800 AM PDT (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Georgette was
located near latitude 12.3 North, longitude 117.1 West.  Georgette
is moving toward the west-northwest near 13 mph (20 km/h), and this
motion is expected to continue through Saturday.  A west-
northwestward motion at a slower forward speed is forecast late
Saturday and Sunday.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 45 mph (75 km/h) with
higher gusts.  Additional strengthening is forecast during the
next 48 hours, and Georgette is expected to become a hurricane by
late Saturday.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 35 miles (55 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1004 mb (29.65 inches).
