DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 300 AM MDT (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Estelle was
located near latitude 16.2 North, longitude 111.1 West. Estelle is
moving toward the west-northwest near 9 mph (15 km/h) and this
general motion is expected to continue for the next couple of days.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 60 mph (95 km/h) with
higher gusts. Additional strengthening is expected during the next
48 hours, and Estelle is forecast to become a hurricane by Monday.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 105 miles (165 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 998 mb (29.47 inches).
