DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 800 PM PDT (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Celia was
located near latitude 21.8 North, longitude 139.1 West.  Celia is
moving toward the west-northwest near 14 mph (22 km/h).  The system
is expected to turn slightly toward the west at about the same
forward speed during the next two days.  On the forecast track,
Celia is expected to move into the Central Pacific basin tomorrow
morning.

Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph (85 km/h) with higher gusts.
Some weakening is forecast during the next 48 hours.  It is likely
that Celia will become a post-tropical cyclone on Friday and a
remnant low by Saturday.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 160 miles (260 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1000 mb (29.53 inches).
