DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 300 PM MDT (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Celia was
located near latitude 13.0 North, longitude 113.2 West. Celia is
moving toward the west-northwest near 6 mph (9 km/h).  A turn
toward the west is expected tonight, and a westward motion at a
faster forward speed is expected Saturday and Saturday night.

Maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher gusts.
Strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and Celia may
become a hurricane on Sunday.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 35 miles (55 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1003 mb (29.62 inches).
