DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 800 AM PDT (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Agatha was
located near latitude 17.3 North, longitude 123.6 West.  Agatha is
moving toward the west-northwest near 13 mph (20 km/h), and a turn
toward the west with a gradual decrease in forward speed is
expected over the next 48 hours.

Maximum sustained winds remain near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher
gusts.  Gradual weakening is forecast to begin tomorrow, and
Agatha is expected to become a remnant low in a couple of days.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 45 miles (75 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1003 mb (29.62 inches).
