DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 800 AM PDT (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Ignacio was
located near latitude 12.2 North, longitude 135.1 West. Ignacio is
moving toward the west near 9 mph (15 km/h). This westward motion is
expected to continue today with an increase in forward speed. A turn
toward the west-northwest is forecast on Thursday.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 60 mph (95 km/h) with
higher gusts. Additional strengthening is expected during the next
48 hours, and Ignacio is forecast to become a hurricane on Thursday.

Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 60 miles (95 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 999 mb (29.50 inches).
