DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 400 PM CDT (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Blanca was
located near latitude 13.3 North, longitude 103.9 West. Blanca has
been meandering for the past few hours, and little net motion is
expected through Wednesday.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 45 mph (75 km/h) with
higher gusts. Additional strengthening is forecast during the
next 48 hours, and Blanca is forecast to become a hurricane on
Tuesday.

Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 45 miles (75 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1003 mb (29.62 inches).
